Thanks to many....

Thanks are in order for the many wonderous gifts I received this holiday season. To make my thank you cards extra special this year I used the holly from the Christmas foliage digital stamp set available at http://www.papergardenprojects.com/. Trust me, this set is beautiful. The images are colored with Copic Markers (Mignonette YG11; Pale Olive YG95;Willow G24; BV00 Mauve Shadow). The bling and sparkle is courtesy of some red rhinestones and diamond Stickles (Ranger Industries). Copic Markers has a challenge  (#41)looking for sparkle and I think this fits the bill.

Hope you enjoyed this latest creative adventure...

Celebrate the "New"....

Celebrate the "New"...

Whether it is a New Year, a new birthday or a new graduate in the family this little bird from Doodle Pantry asks "are you ready to celebrate?"  Here he has been used as a birthday card and the lucky birthday recipient also gets a nice bottle of wine with a matching tag holder.

This bird is very versatile and can be used for almost any type of celebration. Who doesn't like a great reason to celebrate?

We are going to our friends for a New Years celebration weekend and this bottle tag will definitely decorate a bottle of bubbly we are bringing as a gift.

Where did this creative adventure take me today... I'm using a new digital stamp (Doodle Pantry) and making a splendid gift for my card-making friend (Alexa) and her family.

Happy "NEW" Year...

Dazzle Your Tree

Linda has a fun creative recipie challenge that you can cook up at her Catered Crop blog (Catered Crop.com) and I decided to submit a card I have used time and time again. This is my favorite "go-to" card that is always sure to get the recipient excited when they open it. My friend Alexa and I have made many of these cards and I am sure our ornaments are hanging on many trees across the country.

This particular ornament is removable from the card and the lucky recipient can then put it on their tree and use it year after year. The stamp is from Outlines and requires several stampings on different colored paper (in this case Bazzill paper - it has a nice weight). The next step is to cut the diffferent size images. Then you start to layer and adhere each piece with foam mounting. Now... to the labor-intensive part (ok, maybe all the cutting is a tad bit labor intensive also). Start gluing rhinestones to the ornament and trust me a good pair of tweezers comes in handy for this step. My philsophy is the more, the merrier when it comes to the rhinestones. Do not use regular white glue to adhere the rhinestones - for better results try Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents from Ranger. Tie your dazzling ornament to a festive card with bakers twine. Trust me your friend or family member will have a dazzling new addition to their holiday tree this year.

So, where did my creative adventure take me today? ... I started to think about all the fun times that Alexa and I had making these ornmanents in every holiday color imaginable, "Ohhing" and "Ahhing" over each one as we drag our dear husbands over to do the same.

Home Tweet Home

Birds need a warm feathered nest for the winter. These birds are ready for winter and the Doodle Pantry Challenge 3 (check out their blog for other fun challenges). For this challenge I chose the Doodle Pantry's "Home Tweet Home" digital stamp. Color details were added with Copic Markers (powder blue B41; toner gray T3; cream YR21; mignonette YG11;strong red R46). The dusting of snow was courtesy of Flower Soft, not Mother Nature. (Mother Nature made an appearance here last night, however, with the dreaded white stuff.)  A little holly and snowflakes adorned with red holly-berry brads finished the scene for these well-housed birds.

Where did my creative adventure take me today? I landed tree-top, snug and warm in my new birdhouse avoiding all the slipping and sliding below. Keep creating...

Stay warm harted,

Winter's Chilly Approach...

Staying Warm? Here is a winter-themed tag that will help warm your heart. And, better yet you still have time to make some to adorn your packages this year. This adorable stamp is from Eat Cake Graphics and was colored with Copic Markers (willow G24, tender pink RV13, robins egg nest B02). The images were then cut out and adhered to an antiqued tag, Don't forget a little diamond glitter for those glistening tree branches and house roofs. Where did this creative adventure lead me-- to charming and sweet village where happiness reigns. Start your creative adventure too...
