Cute as a button...

The button package on this card (a Papertrey Ink stamp set) almost looks real until you realize that buttons don't cost 25 cents any more.  I stamped it in several colors to give it more of an antique and distressed look. Then I added the buttons with dark orange embroidery floss to make it look authentic. Does anyone remember when they used to attach buttons to the packages with thread? Now they use those awful wire staples that you can never get off.  I continued the sewing theme with a miniature wooden spool (too cute!) and I added green
embroidery floss to make it look like thread.

Spring duck...

This spring duck is all decked out with her basket of posies. I think she is so
adorable in her colored dress against the white embossed backdrop.

I finished my sweet spring duck during my weekend up north to visit my friend Alexa. This weekend entailed lots of $$$ being spent at a fun stamp convention and then hours of stamping in her "creative cave." I really hated to leave because I had many more ideas in my mind and was having too much fun!.

Best wishes cupcake...

A pretty sugared cupcake bearing best wishes... what could be sweeter?
The rock candy stickles really does make the cupcake look like its coated in sugar - pretty amazing.
This cupcake (Paper Garden Projects - check it out its a generous freebie) was inspired by a cupcake photo at Cupcake Inspirations, a striped paper challenge at Paper Sundaes and a  best wishes challenge at Stamptacular Sunday. And, while we are baking "paper" cupcakes, lets follow the recipe at Catered Crop.

Where did my creative adventure take me today? Can you just imagine a big, rambling Victorian house painted creamy yellow and trimmed in bright white. On the porch is a big white rocker surrounded by moss-lined pots of flowers --- just starting to burst open. Wish I was there now with a big
 glass of homemade lemonade.
